Allis in Wonderland

This five story tall, steam powered vertical triple expansion pumping engine dates back to 1915 and is capable of pumping up to 607 gallons of water per flywheel revolution. The pump which was constructed by the Allis-Chalmers Company is now thought to be the only surviving engine of its kind remaining in the world. And so here it rots in New Jersey; standing tall as a testament to neglect, casualty of obsolescence.
