The floors within this particular ward were just beginning to collapse into the basement. Walking across them to the green couch pictured in the back felt like walking on top of a giant saggy mattress; with each step forward the saturated wooden joists below and crunchy asbestos tiles above, squished and crunched beneath my boots.
