Huber Breaker
Coal Country
Looking out over Coal Country toward the city of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania with the borough of Ashley pictured within the immediate foreground. The coal mining region of Pennsylvania I think is one of the most fascinating industrialized areas to explore. While the last of the great coal breakers have since been demolished, the area is still chock-full with amazing industrial remnants that can only be found by getting your feet on the ground and exploring/searching. The entire underground is hollow with abandoned coal mines as well. The area serves a literal scar on the surface of the Earth, a testament to the ability of humans to completely change, for better and worse, the topography of the land in disturbing yet incredible ways.
