The bowling pins all had to be manually aligned, what a drag that must've been! It appears however that the ball return was perhaps at least gravity fed. I suppose a modern comparison to a manual bowling alley could be related to some fat diabetes crippled kid having to stagger ten feet or so up to the PlayStation to switch out GTA for COD or some other yawn inducing game.
