Due to the failure of the seawall, large chunks of the cement reinforced island have eroded away and fallen into the bay water. Along some outer sections of the island there remains a large gap between the sea wall and the actual island, this space floods with water during high tide, creating these really neat tidal pools full with all sorts of fascinating aquatic marine life.
